How does a buyer agent commission rebate actually work? A buyer agent commission rebate is money that your buyer agent will refund you at closing. When a buyer purchases a home, a large part of the purchase price goes to pay off commissions to the agents involved. In California, in most cases each agent receives 2.5% of the sale price of the home. Commission rebates of up to 90% are provided to our buyers at close of escrow. Contact us for more details.

Brokerages in California pay the buyer's agent a 2.5% commission fee paid for by the seller. My brokerage can share our commission with our clients in the form of a check at close of escrow or cash. This is tax-free and there are no fees associated with this rebate. Your refund is received at close of escrow, no waiting.
